It is a mercy of Allāh that there are certain actions which, are in the voluntary power of the individual but are recorded as if they are not, and so he is not held answerable for them.
Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Ṣālih al-ʿUthaymīn

The Noble Scholar begins by tying this topic into the issue of Tawḥīd and shows the reader how Qadr is connected to the Oneness of Allāh.  Then, after expounding upon the three categories of Tawḥīd, he goes on to list the three main views on the issue of Qadr.  Two of them are views of the extremist Islamic sects, and one view is the just and moderate view of Ahl al-Sunnah.  Throughout the remainder of the article, the Shaykh gives proofs and real life examples in order to give the reader a sound understanding of Qadr.
