Benefit: Is Qadr Repelled by Duʿā and Charity?

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

Mūsá Richardson (hafiẓahullāh) translates a fatwá́ from Imām Ibn Bāz in his book of fatawá.

Duʿā is indeed a mighty weapon for the believer and it is the essence and height of worship. Allāh Subhāna wa taʿālá has said make duʿāʾʾʾ to me and I will respond to you.  And those who are too arrogant to worship me are going to enter the fire of Hell humiliated.

Shaykh ibn Bāz (raḥimahullāh) explains in his sixth volume of his fatawá whether duʿāʾʾʾ (supplication) and charity have the ability to repel Qadā and Qadr, the planned events that Allāh ʿazza wa jal has willed.

Prophet Muḥammad (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said:

"Nothing increases one's life-span except good deeds, and nothing repels Divine Decree except duʿāʾʾʾ. And verily a person may be deprived of sustenance due to a sin that he does." [Ibn Mājah]

Listen to the audio and reap the benefits of the Shaykh's explanation on the matter, and May Allāh ʿazza wa jal make us amongst those who supplicate and remember him often.
