Benefit: The People of Desires Either Distort or Negate the Aḥādīth That Oppose Them
In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy
If they are able to negate the Ḥadīth then they do so, like their false principle, that the āḥād Ḥadīth [singular narrations] pertaining to ʿaqīdah are not accepted. Ibn al-Qayyim (raḥimahullāh) has refuted this futile principle with many pieces of evidence in the latter part of [his book titled] Mukhtaṣar al-Ṣawāʿiq. And likewise, If they are not able to negate it, they distort it, like they distort the texts of the Qurʾān.
Translator's note: The Shaykh alludes to the example of the Qurʾān because the people of innovation and desires cannot falsify the Qurʾān, so they distort its meanings to suit their desires.
