Attaining Happiness - Using Time Wisely

  Shaykh ʿAbd Allāh al-Bukhārī

An important advice about preserving time and not wasting it. How does a person waste one's heart? How does one waste one's time? It is as Ibn al-Qayyim said: "Prefering the dunyā over the hereafter and busying oneself with too many wants and hopes"

  Explanation of al-Taqwá

Allāh (subhānahu wa taʿālá) said, “O you who believe fear Allāh as he should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims." He has commanded us to have taqwá (fear) of him in numerous places in the Qurʾān. But how does one fear Allāh? And how does this benefit him in this life and in the hereafter? Shaykh ʿAbdullāh al-Bukhārī explains.

  Speak Good or Remain Silent!

From a dawrah with Shaykh ʿAbdullāh al-Bukhārī, in Medinah. Here, the Shaykh explains the Ḥadīth of the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) “Whosoever believes in Allāh and the last day then let him speak good or remain silent.” The Shaykh is a former student of Shaykh Muḥammad Amān al-Jāmī and is well known to the Salafī scholars. Benefit: A Crushing Blow to the Innovators

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

Shaykh ʿAbdullāh al-Bukhārī (حفظه الله) stated when describing the following texts:

[1] The statement of Allāh:

"وَأَنَّ هَـٰذَا صِرَاطِي مُسْتَقِيمًا فَاتَّبِعُوهُ ۖ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا السُّبُلَ فَتَفَرَّقَ بِكُمْ عَن سَبِيلِهِ"
“And verily, this is my straight path, so follow it, and follow not other paths, for they will separate you from His path.”
[Sūrah al-An‘ām, 6:153]

[2] Jābir ibn ʿAbdillāh (رضي الله عنه) said: “We were with the Prophet (ﷺ), and he (ﷺ) drew a line [in the sand]. He (ﷺ) then drew two lines to its right and two to its left. He (ﷺ) then placed his hand on the middle line and said: ‘This is the path of Allāh.’ He (ﷺ) then recited the verse: ‘And verily, this is my straight path, so follow it, and follow not other paths, for they will separate you from His path.’” [Reported by Ibn Mājah and others, and Shaykh al-Albānī authenticated it.]

This verse is, as al-‘Allāmah al-Qurṭubī [d. AH 671] said, a great verse. It is a crushing blow to the innovators, the people of misguidance and the ḥizbīs who have innovated partisanship and differing and produced misguidance. It is a crushing blow for all of them because they deviated from the path of Allāh and followed those Shayāṭīn who call to those groups [of misguidance] and [deviated] paths.

Translator’s note:

The shaykh (حفظه الله) then went on to describe the Ḥadīth in a similar manner.

Shaykh ʿAbdullāh al-Bukhārī (حفظه الله) said: “Draw closer to Allāh by honouring and treating your parents well, the same way you draw closer to Him by giving charity, being kind to your neighbour, giving your children a good upbringing, living well with your wife, and treating others well.”

Benefit: Following the Guidance - Shaykh ʿAbdullāh al-Bukhārī

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

In his famous poem, al-Ḥāʾiyyah, the great scholar ibn Abī Dāwūd (d. AH 316) began with the following: Hold tight to the rope of Allāh and to the guidance. In this benefit, Shakyh ʿAbd Allāh al-Bukhārī, hafiẓahullāh, of Madīnah explains these opening lines by explaining a verse from the Book of Allāh. Our Shaykh touches on very important points of ʿaqīdah and manhaj. Listen to this short clip and take heed; may Allāh guide you to His Straight Path. May Allāh reward our brothers from Salafi Publications for translating this lecture at the Five Pillars Dawrah Series. Further Debunking Some Doubts and Diversionary Tactics of the Muṣaʿfiqah
—The Visit of Tunisian Salafis to Shaykh Rabīʿ ibn Hādī al-Madkhalī 19/08/1439 AH—

الحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله وعلى آله وصحبه ومن اتبع هداه، أما بعد

In implementation of the saying of Allāh, the Most High: And as for the blessing of your Lord, proclaim it. [Sūrah al-Ḍūhā, 93:11]

Allāh has granted me the opportunity to visit the Imām, al-Muḥaddith, Rabīʿ al-Sunnah, Rabīʿ ibn Hādī ibn ʿUmayr al-Madkhalī — may Allāh preserve him — at his house in the city of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) on the night of Sunday the ninteenth of Shaʿbān, in the year one thousand four hundred and thirty-nine after the migration of al-Muṣṭafá (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) [2018/05/19]. I was accompanied by my brothers from Tunisia.

I was very delighted at the way the shaykh and his son received and welcomed us. Their doors are open wide for visitation and the claim that it is closed — by those who label others ṣaʿāfiqah — is a blazing lie.

I found him (Imām Rabīʿ) in a safe and healthy state — may Allāh preserve him upon that — holding his book, reading and researching. I sought permission to present some questions to him and he granted us permission. We were enlightened by his answers so much so that I wished to share them and perhaps Allāh will benefit others by way of it.

Question #1:

The statement that, “Shaykh Muḥammad (ibn Hādī) has evidences with him for his refutation against the students — who were labelled ṣaʿāfiqah — which Shaykh Rabīʿ has not yet been informed about, so do not be hasty against Shaykh Muḥammad” has become widespread between our brothers.

Shaykh Rabīʿ: Woe, woe, woe to them!

Right. There are evidences which I have not seen yet. Nor have the people seen them and even Muḥammad ibn Hādī has not seen them yet. This is because it does not exist at all.

The Shaykh then laughed, may Allāh preserve him upon his happiness.

Question #2:

'O Shaykh, on some Facebook pages, they have now started to speak ill of Shaykh ʿUbayd al-Jābirī and Shaykh ʿAbdullāh al-Bukhārī, may Allāh preserve them.

Shaykh Rabīʿ: Have they become people of innovation?! They (Shaykh ʿUbayd and Shaykh ʿAbdullāh) are from the heads of Daʿwah Salafiyyah, bārak Allāhu fīkum.

The shaykh, upon hearing this news, became upset.

Written by: Abū ʿUbaydah Walīd al-Tunīsī, Sunday at Fajr, the 19th of Shaʿbān, 1439 AH.
This sitting was witnessed by ʿUmar, the son of Shaykh Rabīʿ, as well as our Tunisian brothers ʿAbd al-Raʾūf, Ḥātim and Muḥammad ʿAlī al-Mājarī.

Explanation of al-Taqwá

  Shaykh ʿAbdullāh al-Bukhārī

Allāh (subhānahu wa taʿālá) said, “O you who believe fear Allāh as he should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims." He has commanded us to have taqwá (fear) of him in numerous places in the Qurʾān. But how does one fear Allāh? And how does this benefit him in this life and in the hereafter? Shaykh ʿAbdullāh al-Bukhārī explains.

From the Good Manners of Correcting Mistakes

  Shaykh ʿAbdullāh al-Bukhārī

Concerning the position, ‘I don't speak about anyone and I don't want anyone speaking about me.’ This position is made with good intentions and in shāʾ Allāh is intended to avoid fitnah. However, is this statement correct or should we be open to giving and receiving advice, commanding the good, forbidding the evil, saying that which is for us and that which is against us?

How Precious Time Is to the Servant

  Shaykh ʿAbdullāh al-Bukhārī

You must be very careful about your time and how it is used. Use it in what benefits you. A day will come and you will be asked about how you used your time! There is also a small beneficial question and answer session at the end.

Preparation for Ramaḍān

Shaykh ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥīm al-Bukharī

“We sent it [this Qurʾān] down on a blessed night [(i.e. night of Qadr, Sūrah No: 97)] in the month of Ramaḍān, the 9th month of the Islamic calendar]. Verily, We are ever warning [mankind that Our Torment will reach those who disbelieve in Our Oneness of Lordship and in Our Oneness of worship].” (Sūrah al-Dukhan, 44:3)

Taking Advantage of Your Health and Time

  Shaykh ʿAbdullāh al-Bukhārī

In this talk our noble shaykh ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥīm ibn Ḥusayn ibn Maḥmūd al-Saʿdi al-Bukhārī al-Madīnī حفظه الله explains the famous ḥadīth recorded by Imām al Bukhārī رحمه الله, narrated on the authority of ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbbās (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said "There are two blessings which many of the people do not take advantage of: Good health and free time."
