Explanation of the Ḥadīth: "Whoever Allāh Wants Good For, He Gives Him Understanding of the Dīn"

  Shaykh Muḥammad al-ʿAqīl

Shaykh Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Waḥhāb al-Aqīl explains the Ḥadīth of the Messenger (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): "Whoever Allāh wants good for, He gives him understanding of the dīn." This Ḥadīth is so important that some of the scholars have written works based upon it. Shaykh Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Waḥhāb al-Aqīlis one of the well-known scholars of Medīnah, and is a lecturer at the Islamic University of Menīnah. He wrote his PhD thesis on the topic: ʿAqīdah in the Belief in the Angels'. This lecture is translated by Abū Ḥakīm Bilāl Davis. (From the 2012 Madīnah Dawrah hosted by Salafī Publications.)

Guard Yourselves from the Two Extremes

Shaykh Ḥasan ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Banná

During the Toronto seminar, Bulūgh al-Marām: Chapter of Purification, in January 2017, our noble and respected Shaykh delivered a very important lecture concerning the importance of clinging to the Qurʾān and the Sunnah and the methodology of the Salaf, and the importance of staying away from the two extremes of exaggeration and falling short. Instead, one should maintain a balanced path of understanding, which can only be attained through seeking knowledge.

How to Read the Books of the People of Knowledge

  Shaykh Ṣāliḥ Āl al-Shaykh

Seeking knowledge is a lengthy path that is not possible to embark upon except by abandoning play and amusement and approaching it in a serious manner. This is because Allāh the Exalted, the Most High, described what He revealed to Muḥammad (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhī wa-salām), and He (Allāh) is the most truthful in speech, as a weighty word. Allāh the Exalted, the Most High says, “Soon shall We send down to thee a weighty word.” [Sūrah al-Muzzammil, 73:5]

Ignorance and Its Cure

  Abū ʿUways ʿAbdullāh Aḥmad ʿAlī

An extremely important benefit concerning the importance of curing ignorance with the medicine of knoweldge. Indeed 'ignorance is a disease that kills, and its cure lies in two things in the same form of prescription, a text from the Book of Allāh or from the Sunnah, and the doctor of all of that is the scholar who fears Allāh.'

Love of Allāh and His Messenger

  Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymīyyah

When the aḥādīth about loving the Messenger of Allāh is looked at in a shallow way, it seems to imply that merely loving the Messenger will enter one into Paradise. This is not so, as there are actions attached to that love.

O Seekers of Knowledge!

Words of wisdom from the Imāms of the Salaf concerning the strong encouragement to seek knowledge of Islām.

Our Life Is Not Without Purpose

  Abū Muʿādh Taqwīm Aslam

Ustādh Abū Muʿādh Taqwīm Aslam delivers a very poignant reminder in a khuṭbah delivered at Masjid al-Furqān (TROID) on the 16th Feb. 2018. An exhortation that this life is not without purpose, rather we will be called to account for every deed, be it small or large, so look to that which you send forth for tomorrow.
