Benefit: Angels Do Not Enter a House in Which There Is a Dog or an Image

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

The Prophet, may Allāh raise his rank and grant him peace, stated: «Angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image.»1

Ibn Taymīyyah (d. AH 728) commented:

If dogs and pictures prevent the created angels from entering a home, how then would the knowledge and love of Allāh, the sweetness of His remembrance, and comfort with His nearness, penetrate a heart already fraught with bestial desires and their images?!2

Benefit: Cutting Off the Hand of a Thief Is Barbaric and Counter-Productive to Social Reform?

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

Obligation of Rejecting Legislation from Other than Allāh

From the correct belief of the Muslim is to disbelieve in the Ṭāghūt who invent new laws for mankind and reject the legislation of Allāh, subḥānahu wa ta'aala. In the following tawḥīd class, our brother, Abū al-ʿAbbās Mūsá Richardson, gave the example of the people who reject the legislated punishment for the theif as outlined in the Sharee'ah. In its place, the implement laws such as imprisonment of the thief. Their excuse for this: "Our laws will bring about rectification." Is this claim correct? Listen to our brother explain this issue and the claim of these so-called "reformers."

Benefit: Returning Money from a Debt or Theft Is a Condition for Tawbah

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

Or if you denied the right of a person; for example if you owe a person a debt and you denied it, then you repented, it is a must that you go to the person you owe the debt to but denying owing it to, and affirm and acknowledge it with him, until he takes his right. If he has died then you give it to his heirs. And if you do not know them, or if the person is absent and you do not know his whereabouts then give charity with the money to free yourself from it. Allāh the Glorified and Exalted knows him and He will give it to him.

Benefit: The Ruling on Circumcising the Hermaphrodite

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

Presented to you is a snippet from one of the lectures delivered by our dear brother Mūsá Richardson on the ruling on circumcising the hermaphrodite; a person having both male and female sexual organs. This discussion shows the completeness of Allāh’s religion, and this is just one of the many proofs that this religion is a religion suitable for all of mankind.

Benefit: The Ruling on Women Who Ride Alone in Vehicles with Foreign Drivers

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

Shaykh Ibn al-ʿUthaymīn [d. AH 1421], may Allāh have mercy upon him, says:1

It is not permissible for a man to be alone with a woman (by herself) in a vehicle, unless he is her maḥram, because the Prophet, may Allāh raise his rank and grant him peace, said:

No man should be alone with a woman without there being a Maḥram present.2

However, if there are two women with him or more, then there is no objection. This is because there is no privacy or seclusion (available between the lady and the driver) in this case – with the condition that it is safe and not a journey. And Allāh is the Granter of Success.
