Let the Sunnah Go Forth

Our need for the Sunnah is so great that without it our religion would be incomplete. Books such as the Bible and the Torah are so lacking in divine explanation that one can never understand (from them) how to worship Allāh properly.

Methodology of the Saved Sect

  Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Jamīl Zaynū

A point-by-point alalysis by Shaykh Muḥammad Ibn Jamīl Zaynū listing the most apparent and praiseworthy characteristics of the Saved Sect and Victorious Group. This brief excerpt from his book Minhāj al-Firqah al-Nājiyah has many beneficial signposts for the real seeker of the truth with regards to Islām and the Sunnah.

Misplaced Loyalty

A timely reminder for anyone who has ever possessed any of the characteristics of Ḥizbiyyah (sectarianism).

Our Daʿwah

  Imām Muḥammad Nāṣir al-Dīn al-Albānī

Imām Muḥammad Nāṣir al-Dīn al-Albānī [d. 1420] delivers a short yet concise overview of ‘our daʿwah’ as in the daʿwah of ahl al-sunnah wa al-jamāʿah, al-daʿwah al-anbiyāʾ. Shaykh al-Albānī (raḥimahullāh) explains the three levels of Islamic knowledge with many clear-cut evidences that will leave the listener no choice but to understand that ‘true Islām’ is the Qurʾān and Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf. The noble muḥaddith continues with an explanation of knowledge in the sharīʿah as opposed to linguistic knowledge, the vast contrast between the two and the harm of making rulings without sharīʿah knowledge.

Points of Benefit That Relate to the Aḥādīth of the Messenger (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam)

  Shaykh ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz al-Rājiḥī

The four sunan (Abū Dāwūd, Al-Tirmidhī, Al-Nasāʿī, and Ibn Majah), the musnad of Imām Aḥmad, and the sunan of Al-Dārimī, all contain aḥādīth that are ṣaḥīḥ (authentic), ḥasan (good), and ḍaʿīf (weak). For they did not make it a condition for their books to contain only the aḥādīth that are ṣaḥīḥ as Al-Bukhārī and Muslim did. Rather, their intent was to gather all the aḥādīth as they relate to a particular matter. Similarly are those others, such the musnad of al-Taylasī and the three ma’ajim of Al-Tabarānī. As for the muwatta of Imām Mālik, it contains aḥādīth that are ṣaḥīḥ, ḥasan, and ḍaʿīf.

Principles Regarding the Salafī Daʿwah

  Abū Khadījah

This is an insightful lecture by Abū Khadījah regarding some principles pertaining to the Salafῑ Daʿwah. One principle mentioned extensively is that the Salafῑ loves the scholars of Ahl al-Sunnah wa-al-Jamāʿah and the innovator hates the scholars of Ahl al-Sunnah wa-al-Jamāʿah.

Seminar: Bulūgh al-Marām - The Chapter of Purification

Shaykh Ḥasan ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Banná, Abū Muʿādh Taqwīm Aslam

A seminar delivered in Toronto, January 2017. Abū Muʿādh Taqwīm Aslam, a graduate of the University of Madīnah in the Faculty of Ḥadīth Sciences, delivered a series of highly beneficial lectures going through the famous book, Bulūgh al-Marām: Chapter of Purification, by Ḥāfiẓ ibn Hajar al-Asqalānī (raḥimahullāh), drawing upon the explanation of Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān (hafiẓahullah). Bulūgh al-Marām is comprised of chapters, each of which has several narrations which are related to that particular chapter and its rulings. The opening chapter is the Chapter of Purification, which comprises of issues related to wuḍūʿ, ghuṣl, tayammum and so on, which are briefly touched upon in these series of lectures.

Sincerity with the Scholars and the Sunnah

  Abū Khadījah ʿAbd al-Wāḥid

A tremendous lecture delivered in Toronto (2002) during the first summer seminar. Our noble brother, Abū Khadījah, spoke upon the topic of being sincere with the Sunnah and with the Scholars, the inheritors of the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhī wa-sallam).
