The fatwa of Shaikh Ibn Baz raḥimahullāh entitled 'The Supplication of a Menstruating Woman'

troid.ca/index.php?option=com_content&ta...ew&id=176&Itemid=428

mentions the following:

According to a ḥadīth narrated by Imām Aḥmad with a jayyid isnaad, he said: "As for the man who is junub, he should not read even one aayah."

The ḥadīth mentioned is weak according to Shaikh al Albaanee raḥimahullāh, who has discussed the ḥadīth in the following books:

i)'Irwaa.ul-Ghaleel' (2/243-245)
ii)'Da'eef Sunan Abee Dawood' (1/83-85)
iii)Tammaamul-Minnah (p.117-118)

The ḥadīth is weak because;
(a) The narrator 'Aamir ibn as-Simt, who is Abdul-Ghareef whom no one declares reliable except Ibn Hibbaan, whereas Abū Haatim said about him, he is not well known...they spoke about him he is similar to Asbigh ibn Nubaatah and this narrator Asbigh ibn Nubaatah is weak in the view of Abū Haatim and abandoned with others, so it is established that the ḥadīth is weak.
(b) It is mawqoof (the saying of the companion only).

(translated by Abū Talhah Dāwūd Burbank).

wasSalaamu'alaikum warahmatullaah.
