The Creed of the Rāfiḍah Regarding the Companions in General
The Rāfiḍah eliminate most of the Companions from being believers and claim that the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was compelled to accept the shahādah of most of them ("rubbish of jahiliyyah") for tactical reasons only.
How amazing is this! These people for whom Allāh has attested to as having faith, they (the Rāfiḍah) attest to them as having hypocrisy! Allāh gives them glad tidings of Paradise yet these people say that they are in the Fire.
In the book of Saleem ibn Qays1 regarding ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib he said: “Indeed all of the people (the companions) became apostates after Allāh’s Messenger ﷺ except four. Indeed, the people came to be, after Allāh’s Messenger ﷺ, of the status of Hārūn and those who followed him; and of the status of the calf (which they took in worship) and those who followed it. ʿAlī resembled Hārūn and ʿAtīq (Abū Bakr) resembles the calf, while ʿUmar resembles Saamiree.”2
At-Tustaree, one of their scholars, said: “Just as Mūsá came for guidance, and he guided a great portion of the Children of Isrāʿīl and other than them, but they became apostates during his lifetime so that none remained upon his faith except Hārūn, upon him be peace; likewise, Muḥammad ﷺ came and guided a large portion; however, after his death they turned back on their heels (as apostates).”3
Rather, they believe that most of those who openly manifested their Islām during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ only manifested it out of hypocrisy; and that the Prophet ﷺ only accepted their entrance into the ranks of the believers because he was in need of large numbers so that he could be protected by them against his enemies. Ḥasan Ash-Shayraazee, one of the current day Shīʿah, says: “Indeed it was not to the advantage of the Prophet ﷺ at the inception of al-Islām to only accept the sincere ad reject the hypocrites. It was only upon him to gather together all of the rubbish of Jāhilyah in order to place a shield (of protection) around al-Islām by way of it from the local and international forces which were openly against him. So he would proclaim: ‘Say: None has the right to be worshipped save Allāh and you will be successful.’” Up to his (Ash-Shayrīzī’s) statement: “It was not for the Prophet to reject them; otherwise there would only have remained him, ʿAlī, Salmān, Abū Dharr, and a small group from the chosen elite.”4
How amazing is this! These people for whom Allāh has attested to as having faith, they (the Rāfidah) attest to them as having hypocrisy! Allāh gives them glad tidings of Paradise yet these people say that they are in the fire.
“Say, "Do you know better or does Allāh? And who is more unjust than he who conceals the testimony he has from Allāh? And Allāh is not unaware of what you do."
